About
A calm place to start the web, kept on your own device.
HomeStartPage is a free homepage. You search from it, and you open the sites you use often from a grid of shortcuts. It is meant to be quiet: there is no account, no feed, and no sign-in with Google or anyone else.
Google is the default search engine. Bing and DuckDuckGo are there if you prefer them. The choice is remembered in this browser. Searches are not.
The grid starts with a short set of widely used sites. Personal is the first row, for links you add yourself. The built-in sites are grouped as email, shopping, banking, news, travel, entertainment, and utilities. You can add your own links, edit or remove tiles, reorder them inside a category, or restore the originals. Step-by-step instructions are on the Help page.
Light and dark themes follow your system the first time you visit. After you choose one, that choice stays on this device. Weather is optional and stays off until you turn it on.
An advertisement section appears only when a placement is active, and each one is labelled. The page does not load an advertising network. See Advertising for how that space works, and Privacy for what stays in the browser and what is deliberately not collected.
The site is a set of static files. There is no HomeStartPage database of visitors.
